Los Angeles Organizing Awards

2009 Voting Procedure and Categories

Awards shall be given annually to honor outstanding achievements and contributions to the organization and productivity profession, and to recognize professional organizers, organizing retailers, organizing products services & resources, charities, technology providers, authors and the media provided for in these rules and approved by the National Association of Professional Organizers, Los Angeles (NAPO-LA) Board of Directors.

Awards shall be conferred Friday, January 30, 2009 at a public ceremony in Los Angeles.

Call category voting shall take place online at napola.org, organizingawards.com, and losangelesorganizingawards.com beginning 12:01am October 31, 2008 – and conclude 11:59pm December 31, 2008.

A campaign may be mounted for companies or products eligible for awards distinction and votes may be solicited by linking a website to napola.org, organizingawards.com, and losangelesorganizingawards.com.

Voting is open to NAPO-LA Chapter Members, NAPO National Members and the general public. See restrictions on voting in certain categories in item Eight (8) below.

Voting on all categories shall be restricted to one ballot form per email address only.

Awards will be presented to the individual or company that receives the highest amount of votes in their category. In the event an equal number of votes are received in any one category, awards will be presented to both parties.

Best Organizing Product Retailer
Best source of organizing products (catalog, online site, or retail store)

Best Closet Design Firm
Firm that offers the ultimate in style and function providing design and construction of closet systems

Best Garage Design Firm
Firm that offers the ultimate in style and function providing design and construction of garage systems

The Green Award for Most Eco-Friendly Organizing Service
A company that offers a service with extraordinary environmental sensitivity

Best Office Organizing Product
Favorite organizing product for office organizing (manufacturer/brand name)

Best Home Organizing Product
Favorite organizing product for home organizing (manufacturer/brand name)

Most Helpful Organizing Technology
Your choice for the technology (either software or a gadget) that best helps you and/or your clients stay organized (manufacturer/brand name)

The Green Award for Most Eco-Friendly Organizing Product
Products manufactured using renewable energy that protects the environment.

Best National Organizing Television Show
The national television program that best showcases organizers and the organizing process

Best Organizing Book
Best book about organizing (provide title and author)

Best Publication Featuring Organizational Information
Best magazine dedicated to sharing and teaching organizing principles to the public

Best Organizing Website or Blog
Best electronic media providing and teaching organizing principles to the public

Most Valuable Educational Resource
The class, workshop or other educational resource that contributed most significantly to your education about organizing

NAPO-LA Chapter Members only may vote for the following:

Best Organizer as Coach or Mentor
The professional organizer who has most consistently, meaningfully and effectively devoted a portion of their time to mentoring or coaching other organizers

Most Innovative Organizer
The professional organizer who is blazing trails within the industry in terms of his or her business structure, website, products, or services

Most Supportive or Organizer-Friendly Charity
The charity you most like to donate to based on either their quality of service to those making donations or their effective reuse/repurposing of goods for maximum benefit

NAPO-LA Board Members only may vote for the following:

The Special Recognition Award
An individual or company who has performed or contributed significantly to the success of a particular project or initiative that benefits the public and the organizing profession

Volunteer of the Year Award
The NAPO-LA Chapter member with an exemplary record of service

Raising the Bar Award
The Board Member who went above and beyond the call of duty

The Leading Edge Award
The Chapter member whose actions and efforts elevated the quality and/or profile of NAPO and NAPO-LA
