Los Angeles Organizing Awards
2010 Venue Information
RALEIGH STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD For the first time, the Los Angeles Organizing Awards will be held at the historic Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. As the longest continuously operating studio in the country, Raleigh features 12 sound stages on 11 acres. Dating back to 1915, Raleigh is known for being the filming site of silent films starring Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford, and the more modern best picture winners “In the Heat of the Night,” and “The Best Years of Our Lives.” It is also the filming location for numerous Television shows and Commercials. The ceremony will take place on Sound Stage #8 that is currently being used for the award winning TNT hit, “The Closer”. Located on Melrose Avenue in the heart of Tinseltown, Raleigh is convenient to many historic locations including Paramount Pictures, The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Universal Studios, Dodger Stadium, CBS Television City, The LA County Museum of Art (LACMA), Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Griffith Park and many more interesting destinations. When you pass the entrance gate into Raleigh Studios you will find yourself in a small city of stages, offices, theatres and even a café. There is always filming taking place on the studio lot, so it is not surprising to pass celebrities headed to their productions or even stopping in for lunch at the café. Many production companies also make Raleigh Studios their home and inhabit quaint offices tucked in and around the perimeter of the studio lot. It is an exciting, fast paced environment and an excellent venue to showcase our exciting event. Experience the magic of a sound stage and walk the red carpet where some of the finest actors of all time have walked before, and be a part of Hollywood history this year at Raleigh Studios with the Los Angeles Organizing Awards. |
